Context Analysis

Context-Analysis-Profile.png

Today, when one has a decision to make, there are few options to properly contemplate the issues and get the approach right.  Management is looking for direction or has an expectation of the outcome.  Other groups and individuals have territory to protect and will be focused on their own agendas.

The only place to "think it through" is in your office, by yourself, behind closed doors or sometimes "over lunch" with an unbiased but trusted individual.  Neither of these give any assurance that the full scope has been explored.  Context Analysis provides the vehicle to explore all aspects of a question or issue, reach a decision and develop an approach to move forward.

Tyra's Context Analysis provides the vehicle to explore all aspects of a question or issue, reach a decision and develop an approach to move forward.  It provides additional context to support information based decision making.

To be effective an organization must respond appropriately to all problems and opportunities.  This requires a multifaceted, realistic and unbiased understanding of the scope and relative impact of active problems or opportunities.  Tyra’s Context Analysis addresses this need by providing a short interactive analysis that provides an understanding of the knowns and unknowns relating to the issue at hand.  It provides decision makers with early information to allow them to assess the risk associated with making a decision and it identifies additional information that would improve the quality of the decision process.
What is Context Analysis

The Context Analysis Framework provides an individualized auditable process.  Through heuristic questioning and integrated exploration all aspects of a issue or opportunity are explored to deliver creative insights and approaches.  Real value is achieved through first finding the best approach and then aligning it with corporate cultures and goals to maximize its success and minimize disruption.

Context Analysis can be used for:
  • Refining complex goals and tasks
  • Distilling competing interests into a “Best Approach”
  • Situational assessment and implementation of strategic direction
  • Discovery and definition of stakeholder issues and requirements
  • Optimizing a strategic direction

The Process:

Identify a Problem or Opportunity

Identify a significant issue that has longer term strategic importance to the organization.  Tyra works with you to develop an unbiased, open question that will allow the full context of the issue to be explored.
